And then I read an article about schools that kept telling children to be creative while still colouring in neatly and accurately within the lines. The article explained that although we try to push our children to be creative using selective criteria, we are actually encouraging them and grading them to follow a rigid set of rules. A palliative care nurse by the name of Bronnie Ware was highly qualified to write the book, The Top Five Regrets of the Dying. Interestingly, the number one regret she wrote was, “I wish I’d had the courage to live a life true to myself, not the life others expected of me.”

My attitude to life was radically changed when I developed the conviction that in all of life I always had an audience of One.
