WORDS THAT HAVE SHAPED MY LIFE (111) “WE HAVE THE RIGHT NOT TO EXERCISE OUR RIGHTS”

Martin Luther said, “A Christian is a perfectly free lord of all, subject to none. A Christian is a perfectly dutiful servant of all, subject to all.”
Christian freedom is one of the many paradoxes of the Christian faith. Paul explained it this way,
“You say, ‘I am allowed to do anything’ – but not everything is good for you. You say, ‘I am allowed to do anything’ – but not everything is beneficial. Don’t be concerned for your own good but for the good of others.”  1 Corinthians 11:23-24

RJDA good friend of mine recently asked me a thoughtful question as we were discussing life in our senior years. He asked me, “Would you live your life any differently now you are in your senior years?”
I didn’t take long to reply that I wouldn’t be living my life any differently than I am now.

As I reflected on our brief conversation, the following scriptures that have guided my life and my destiny came to me. I have a God given destiny from the day I was born:

  1. I was born with a God given PURPOSE
“For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works,
