(91)  “NEVER A DULL MOMENT”

As I write this WORDS, I am daily attending a cancer centre, where for 35 consecutive weekdays I am undergoing radiotherapy for cancer in my body. The thought of driving to and from the Cancer Centre to go through a precise medical procedure that is supervised by trained staff, was not something I was looking forward to; until I read of Paul’s experiences in a Roman jail as explained in his letter to the Philippians.

So important is this subject, growing to our maximum potential that I have been encouraged to write a second article on the subject GROW ON…..don’t just go on.

And I am writing to people who have yet to realise that they have been :-

1. Created to grow

However, it does remind me of a lesson that has been of primary importance to me; leaders need to continually grow on and never just go on. This lesson has been powerfully brought home to me with the recent publishing of a book by John Maxwell called, The 15 Invaluable Laws of Growth. He sets a valuable foundation with his first law, The Law of Intentionality which says, “Growth does not happen by chance. Getting older is automatic, getting better is not. If we are going to grow, we need to grow on purpose, we need a personal growth plan.”

Jesus is the most unforgettable person the world has ever seen. Not a day passes without large numbers of people being transformed by the power of His love and life and words. So much has Jesus impacted my life that there was a time when I determined that wherever I went I would have a goal of creating a memory in the lives of people I met. And now in my senior years I am more focused than ever before on this goal. Each day is a gift from God to be able to create memories in the lives of people I meet.
