IN TIMES OF CRISIS, LEADERS:
- Stand up and take charge (They accept responsibility and have a war-time perspective)
- Are not necessarily those in leadership positions with leadership titles
- Define reality
- Are humble and care for people
- Are prepared to make sacrifices and pay a price
- Walk by faith and not by sight
- Lead by their convictions and not by their feelings
- Know that God is sovereign and that the crisis has not taken Him by surprise
- Have perspective and see the big picture
- Know that God will bring good out of bad
- Show moral courage in the face of fear
- Are dealers in hope
- Take necessary risks and are adaptable
- Know that what got them to where they are won’t get them to where they need to go
- Listen – to God and one another
- Communicate continually, calmly and decisively
- Create their own road map as they think constructively and creatively.
- Inspire!
- Find answers to problems
- Turn stumbling blocks into stepping-stones
- Eliminate things that have passed their use by date and make the main thing the main thing
- Experience times of testing which qualify them for greater responsibility as they pass the tests
- Grow in self-leadership
- Are not intimidated by opposition
- Recognise that a breeding ground is created in which new leaders emerge
- Help people regain control of their lives
- Recognise that new seeds of opportunity are being created. Things will never be the same again.
- Model the changes that come from the new seeds of opportunity
- Find their security in God alone; they have an audience of One
- Come out bigger and better
