In my two years of service in the Australian Army, when we were sent out on a mission, it was critical that we received specific and relevant MARCHING ORDERS. The success or otherwise of our mission had much to do with our marching orders. It can mean the difference between defeat and victory.

Marching orders consisted of :

• Where we were to go
• Why we were going
• How we were to fulfill the orders that were assigned to us
• Who we were to encounter along the way
• What were the resources we would take with us to overcome the opposition we would face

One of the keys to a life of impact is that of perspective. Some people look at situations logically while others look at situations with perspective which I define as looking through the eyes of God. If we focus on our problems and opposition and challenges through logical eyes, there is every possibility that we will be overwhelmed and decide to retreat or give up. But if we focus on those things through the eyes of God, we will gain perspective and know that, “all things are possible with God.” Philippians 4:13
