An amazing breakthrough came to me after reading Henry Blackaby’s book Experiencing God , that brought to life the words of Jesus after He had offended the religious leaders for healing a man on the sabbath. In reply, Jesus explained His reason for breaking their traditions and living His unpredictable life. “My Father is always at His work to this very day, and I too am working…..the Son can do nothing by Himself; He can do only what He sees His Father doing, because whatever the Father does the Son also does.” John 5:17,19 A sense of relief gradually settled in my spirit when …

CHOOSE YOUR FRIENDS……CAREFULLY! Your future depends on it

J Oswald Sanders 1983 - Copy (3)

One of the wisest persons in the Bible wrote the following words that have served me well in my life of ministry :
“The righteous choose their friends carefully, But the way of the wicked leads them astray.”  Proverbs 12:26

So important was this principle for his readers to take to heart, that he repeated it in varying ways through the book of Proverbs.

That proved to be quite a change in the way I used my time.
Gradually, I learned to order my time according to …

An important leadership lesson. What do you do………..? WHEN YOUR MATES DESERT YOU

Sad-Images-Download-6-269x300It can be lonely at the top. Like the time the Apostle Paul wrote to Timothy from a damp, dark prison cell, on trial in a Roman court, believing that the time for his departure was near.

As I recently read this story, I couldn’t help being reminded of one of the great challenges that leaders need to be ready and equipped to face at critical times in their ministry. That being, what to do when your mates desert you? Paul describes this situation in 2 Timothy 4:16-17.
“At my first defence, NO ONE came to my support, but EVERYONE DESERTED me. May it not be held against them. But
